“I am looking for photographers with no age limit who master a delicate visual language and are working on subjects relevant in their content. My special interest is in art work that is in dialogue with archival material, family history, human relations as well as architecture photography.”
Gintaras Česonis graduated in Art History from the Vytautas Magnus University. He studied photography at Kaunas Photography School and Ecole Nationale de la Photographie in Arles. In 2009, he began working as Head of Lithuanian Photographers’ Association Kaunas Department, where he successfully started gallery reconstruction, converting the gallery space into an important national multifunctional center, including education, residency and publishing activities.
Responsible for the Kaunas Photography Gallery and its international art residency program, Gintaras has curated solo and group exhibitions as well as produced and edited around 30 photography books of well-known and emerging photographers. Since 2009, he is a frequent portfolio reviewer at various local and international photography events.
